Who We’re and That Which We Manage
Tobias and colleagues are small businesses that works with aboriginal communities to document people’s relationship to land and their dependence on old-fashioned territories. What we create is known as use-and-occupancy investigation; the application of many specific social-science methods to offer good evidence of a people’s use of standard info and occupancy of a homeland. The techniques are trusted by Canadian 1st places, Metis and Inuit peoples and models of them are used by native communities in lots of different countries. The techniques integrate:

The strategies include face to face interviewing of elders, harvesters of traditional sources, and information holders. Each strategy is specific and ideal for documenting a separate aspect of the over-arching tale stressed by virtually all native forums: ‘The area is very important to Us’.
